Eve: The First Woman and Mother of All Living Eve holds a unique and foundational place in the Bible as the first woman created by God and the mother of all humanity. Her name, given by Adam, means "living" or "life-giver," emphasizing her role in the origin of human life (Genesis 3:20).   Creation of Eve Eve was created by God as a companion for Adam.
